Here is a Schwinn like no other on the OTSG. This is Greg S’s 1980 custom chrome Schwinn Varsity. I would imagine it’s safest to save this baby for cloudy days?

I bought the bike for $100.00 e-bay and drove 100 miles to get it. The serial # is BR 550646 I think it was a custom chrome job. no decals and it’s not a super sport. your site is very cool. I had about 30 bikes mostly old Schwinn ten speeds, I sold 8 and gave away 5.
Thanks Greg
I swear it’s Spring outside, no really…it is. Helping wish on some warmth and clear skies, Julie S and her early ’70s Nishiki Professional. Ho Ho Ho Green Giant!

Green in honor of spring-someone dressed it up with newer wheels and rdr. OK by me! Haven’t even cleaned her up yet. Presenting ‘The Green Giant’ LOL.
Thanks Julie
Here is another international entry. This is a 1984ish Raleigh Corsa send in by Eduardo V in Berlin. I’m pretty sure this is one of the best ‘bookshelf shot’ (in this case I guess it would be ‘bücherregal foto’) that I’ve received.

Hallo!
I bought this bike quite as a bargain in the pleasant Boxhagener Flea Market in Berlin! It is a Raleigh Corsa (most likely from 1984) full equipped with Shimano Golden Arrow. Some pieces were in bad shape and the tires were also unusable. In the rush to restore it, the question always was: “be more purist or give it some new look and personality?” I opted for the second way, so after a few weeks, the results come out as you can see on the pictures
I use it now everyday as a commuter to go working.
Thanks Eduardo
HAPPY MONDAY! Really, HAPPY MONDAY! Hope you all are having to a better post-lazy-weekend than I am. But I digress. Here is a breath of fresh Canadian (Tire) air, by way of Aaron F, to aid in the recuperation. I’d don’t know about you, but I’m already feeling the effects!

1984 Canadian Tire Supercycle
They don’t make ‘em like this anymore. This was my Dad’s bike that I recently found and resurrected from beneath a pile of hay. Pretty much unridden for 20+ years, after a good dose of grease and some new bar tape, it rolls along quite nicely. Parts aren’t high end, but what you’d expect from a big box retailer for the day - decent Shimano quality: RS front and rear derailleurs and Shimano hubs. If you look closely, you’ll see that the Sun rims came improperly laced and I’ve since rebuilt them. Soon to put on a classic San Marco Regal, as well.
Cheers, Aaron
Thanks Aaron
Rick F’s emerald goddess, a 1973 Schwinn Suburban. In addition, Rick’s, ‘A little dry rot never hurt anyone.’ has been meritoriously added the otsism rotator. Thanks Rick!

Found this beautiful green Suburban on my quest for my old 1971 Fastback Stingray. It rides great. Original tires hold air. A little dry rot never hurt anyone.
Thanks Sarah
