• Bob I’s Miyata 110

This is Bob I’s Miyata 110 which I was planning to feature last Friday, but alas, I went out for lunch… So in the interest of December’s OTSOTM ballot, I will post date this entry.

I hope everyone had a great New Year, I’m already enjoying the lengthening daylight, it won’t be long now.

A little bit about it: Bought this from a cow-orker who had hardly ridden it at all.  It was too big for him, it is too big for me.  I rode the wheels off it for a year anyway.  Now it’s hanging in the garage with mismatched parts, wishing someone would offer me a 12 pack in trade for it.

    Billnuke1′s Miyata 210

Another great Japanese brand, Miyata. Here is a Miyata 210 sent in by Billnuke1 a million years ago.

This new bike that I picked up is a late 70′s or early 80′s Miyata 210. This bike has hung in a shed for 20+/- years! I walked into the shed to check for mouse bait stations when I saw this bike! Oh! Man! At first I thoughjt that it was another Univega. Closer revealed that the bike was a Miyata! I don’t have one of those! Soon, the bike and I are heading home! I changed the batteries in the cat eye computer and it works! Just a little acid at the end of one of the AAA battery!

    Thanks for being here, Bill

John G’s Sears Ted Williams Sports Racer

Today marks the close of Department Store Week  and what a week it’s been here in the Gallery.  We’re closing out the week and opening the Holiday weekend with a bang. The bang being what I would consider the most desireable of all DSOTS, a Sears Ted Williams Sports Racer. Thanks to John G. for his entry.

As always, thanks for reading, contributing, and of course, keeping them on the road.  See you Tuesday!

    Hi,
Cool website! Here’s another ten speed from under someone’s floor (basement) to under someone’s bumm!

1965(?) Sears Ted Williams Sports Racer
This project is the first one i had taken on with umm so much need. Had gotten this bike for $80 and it was a mess but with potential. Had the wheels relaced and cleaned the bike to best of my ability. I installed Velorange hammered fenders, tealish bar tape, and the other transitory components. The rest of the bike is complete with what it came with according to vintbike on bikeforum. I appreciate that it is cool, vintage, and my size but deceptive to the common bike thief.
