But hey, that’s why we’re here for. To turn trash to treasure, shit to gold, mountains to molehills and so on. Selling the bike as you see in the photos(I have back rim too if you want it) to someone who wants to restore with some of existing parts or build from just the frame only with all new parts.

I have not decided on a price. Will listen to all offers.

I rode the bike mostly from the years 1981-1985. My brother rode the bike sparingly from 1975 when it was new until 1978. Bike has had much use. I rode 25 miles or so just two years ago. Needs a bottom bracket so it will petal smoothly. I have the back rim and original spinwheel on another old bike I ride . Front rim you see in pics is original as well. To fully restore bike you’ll have to put a new seat, brake cables, perhaps some brake parts, tape for handlebars, new bottom bracket, new gear cables, 2 new tires and paint job.

‘Found your site while doing some research on my old ten speed today. The bike is a 1978 AZUKI Gran Sport 21″ that I bought new in the Spring of ’78. I’m not riding it and would like to see it go to a collector instead of winding up as a bent wheel locked to a bike rack at some Community College.

Bill J’s Twin Schwinn Super Sports 1972 and 1982

Twin Schwinns for twoday. Both Super Sports; both courtesy of Bill J; one blue ’72; one silver ’82; one for sale; both schweet.

Here are two beautiful Schwinn Super Sports – separated by a decade in time.
The first is a 1972 Super Sport. I believe that this bike already exists in the gallery (bob’s), but this one has a bit of extra flair; reflective tape and funny read caps on most of the bolts. A few notes; it was missing its rear pie plate and the rear derailleur does not appear to be original – though the suntour VGT might have been an upgrade for the era? Also, when I purchased it, it did not have the original brooks saddle. The best I could do is a time appropriate Japanese fujita belt saddle – with the Japanese rear derailleur, maybe it isn’t that out of place.

The next is a 1982 Super Sport. A minty. This one has already found a new home – at 25 inches, it was way to big for me. The 1972 is looking for a new home.

For sale is a Raleigh Competition GS with all original parts except for the saddle. I have attached a picture of the original brochure that lists the components. There are Look clipless pedals on the bike in the pictures, but I am selling the bike with the original pedals. The frame is for a taller rider and has a 35″ stand over height.
