Hi Cameron! This gorgeous 48 cm ’76 Motobecane Super Mirage was jacked from my porch two weeks ago in Ann Arbor, MI. I posted it on Craigslist offering a reward for its return, and Hugh told me to send some pictures to you and get it posted. I am offering a cash reward for its return. You can post my email address with the bike photos.

Thanks for your help! I am still pretty hopeful about its return. I bought it two Januaries ago as a birthday present to myself and I love love love it…mostly original components, though the paint job is a little more scuffed up and the cassette’s a bit rusty, it rides like a dream.

    STOLEN: Justin’s Huffy 626

First it was “The Dude” now it’s the Huffy 626, it seems no OTS is safe! It was once thought that the lighter the bike, the heavier the lock, but this is no longer the case. You may have bought your old crappy 10-speed in the hopes that it would not get attention from thieves, but it appears that thieves are hip to our scene. Weight, quality and MSRP no longer apply—lock ‘em up kids!

Stolen Bike. I was so proud of this bike, my first garbage day rescue. I just heard from Justin the current owner/victim that they actually cut
the railing to get this bike.

It does have a distinctive mark. You can see behind (underneath) the bottom bracket where I cut-off the kick stand mounting bracket.

    Ben’s Murray “The Dude” 10-Speed

He doesn’t know it yet, but Ben in Ohio really made my Wednesday! I was lumbering along yesterday in the middle of my typically loathsome workday when he lit up my inbox with this themed Murray 10-speed. Titled “The Dude”, donning a powder blue paint job and a fitting 70s type face–this Murray is the finest OTS I’ve seen since–well, since the last OTS I saw! To top it all off, The Dude is outfitted with a glorious faux-denim vinyl saddle. This Murray seems to light up the Gallery.

    Murray The Dude 10-Speed

The bike’s model name is ‘The Dude’ and the seat is vinyl made to look like denim. Who could not love this bike. Found it in the trash one day this winter. Took it home, cleaned it up and replaced the tires, tubes and brake pads. Now being used as a short distance college campus bike.

    Thanks Ben
