Ok, I Hope You Don’t Mind If I Pause This For Now

Hello Friends and Cotters,

As I’m sure no one/some/most of you have noticed, my commitment to the OTSG over the past several months has been waning.  There are many contributing factors with which I won’t bore you all, but it’s apparent I can’t keep up with the regular posting and hosting that a site like this and visitors like you need and deserve. However, I also do not want to abandon this 5 year old labor of love. I have decided to put this site on “Pause” until I can either a) find time to make regular posts, or b) automate the process without giving the site up to trolls.

Since we have nearly 1000 bicycles many of which you might not have seen when they were originally posted, I have set the home page to display 5 random posts from the past 5 years. Refreshing the page will display 5 new posts, and navigating to the “Older/Newer Posts” at the bottom will also display 5 random entries.  I hope you enjoy this little change while I regroup and assess.

Thank you all so much for your contributions and support over the years.

I’ll be back…

Cameron

Just an opinion, but why not add a few more admins to the site? I’m sure there are fellow OTSG visitors would volunteer and take over the reigns for a while.

Thanks for the comment JC. I have and will continue to consider multiple admins, but I’ve not fully thought out how I would like them to function. I would also like to expand the functionality of the OTSG as well, and that lays primarily on my shoulders regardless.

Good to hear from you, Cameron, and to know that you are okay. It would be a shame to lose this unique site, but you certainly must balance it with the rest of life. I admit that I have regretted not seeing new offerings. I have also wondered how much work must be involved in keeping it moving as you have done. Ready to be patient! MikeD

Cameron, nice to hear from you again…even nicer to hear that all fares well with you.

I can totally understand how living day to day seems to distract one from being totally committed to the “funner” things in life. I have not fed my favorite past-time in many months. The Gallery is full of enough eye candy to keep one satisfied for a good long while, and I’m sure that when the time is right your labor of love will continue to grow.
Best of luck in 2013, BRQ

No worries Cameron all you have to say is “New Born” and that is reason enough. Hope you can find the balance, until then no worries “take care of yo’ bid’ness” as the kids would say. Peace

RUMORS OF YOUR DEMISE WERE JUST A URBAN LEGEND
I THINK WE WERE GETTING WORRIED MAN
WELL HAPPY NEW YEARS TO YOU & YOURS
I THINK WE WILL ALL PE HAPPY WITH WHAT YOU HAVE COME UP WITH

Cameron, nice move…I really like the way that you setup the Gallery to showcase the old exhibits of the past.
    Nice job!

(What-the-””…how did a motorized bike get into the Gallery?)

Hey Cameron, Congratulations ! I heard through the “virtual grapevine” that your family has expanded recently.
Life with a newborn and a little one can be very demanding and fulfilling. Enjoy your break. Come back when your ready . I have always thought of the quality of the OSTG as the hallmark every bicycle web site or blog should try to emulate. Cheers
