• From Bob’s Garage: 1973 Schwinn Super Sport

Runner-up in April’s OTSOTM, Bob is back again with a bid for the May title. This time around it is this 1973 Schwinn Super Sport complete with rear rack, Brooks B-15 and fan favorite fork-mounted flamingo.

    As promised, another OTS.
More from my herd of Schwinns. This is my 1973 Scwhinn Super Sport. The color is Sunset Orange, I call it the Great Pumpkin. This bike weighs a ton, thanks to the one-piece crank and that enormous steel pie-plate. Rides great. The frame is fillet-brazed chrome-moly. The Super Sport came new with the Brooks B-15 saddle.
    Thanks,
    Bob

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Weekend. See you Tuesday.
    Thanks again Bob

Hi Bob, Great looking bikes. Did the Super Sports come with bottom bracket that would take today’s Shimano bottom bracket i.e. 68mm wide, standard ISO threading? Is there anything non-standard, unique to Schwinn on these bikes?

      Thanks,

      Joe
