As I mentioned earlier this week, I’m cleaning out the bottom of my inbox this week. One of our resident flippers, Art F, sent me this Ladies Huffy Team America back when there was still snow on the ground and the year was still 2009!
Hi Cameron ,
the Huffy Team America that was published a while ago in OTSG has come home to roost from it’s second rental . The headset felt a little gritty so I took it apart, cleaned it and it’s ready to go out again for rent or sale. But I found a women’s Huffy Team America in a thrift shop with the same paint scheme but that’s about all that’s the same . I don’t know which one was manufactured first. The men’s bike said U.S. Cycling Team . That was not on the women’s bike . Maybe the five extra pounds disqualified it from racing. The me’s bike had a 3 piece crrank . women’s bike has the standard Ashtabula one piece crank . Men’s bike had 27 X 1-1/4 tires . women’s bike has 26X1-3/8 ” tires. Men’s bike had snazzy vinyl seat. Women’s bike has black textured rubber seat. . I guess the men’s bike was a wannabe Schwinn while the women’s bike was a plain jane Huffy with a fancy name. Both bikes are probably going to be sitting out in the snow until spring . I can sell mountain bikes in the winter in about a week .Art F.
