Nice one Art! My guess on the model would be an SHC 271. You should be able to verify that on this site:

    Art H.,
Mister, we’ll meet you in the wood shed a little later for not sending more than one picture of that nice old vintage nearly mint 10 speed. That thing is beauuutiful! I have never come across a Sekine in any of my hunting expeditions/excursions, and have only seen them in this here Gallery, but like Cam I’m beginning to acquire a fondness for ’em in my shriveled ol’ heart. Thanks for submitting it, nice ride!

StefanP, nice extensive site on the Sekines…ty.

Beater, just wanted to clarify that it’s not my site. Just a great site that I visit frequently.
I too am a Sekine fan. I have 3 of them!

StefanP beat me to the punch in recommending mytenspeeds as a great place for Sekine info – Randy has lots of great Canadian steeds on his site.

Nice find Art love the “drilled” chain guard. Always good to get those garage queens back out on the road and in the sun where they belong.

Call me crazy, but with that serial number I’m thinking 1977. Sekine has the BEST pie plates. Don’t know why more makers didn’t pick up on that idea. Lovely bike.
