BeaterRezQ’s American Flyer (Nishiki) Jewel

Hello to all the good peeps at OTS! I haven’t been around much lately, hope all is well with Cameron and co.
I came across this strange little bike over the summer. Restored it from top to bottom, and now I am just really curious
whether or not bikers would consider this to be safe with the machined drilling throughout the top tube, down
tube and seat tube. The stress points are still solid, good ol’ Japanese steel…of 70’s vintage. Light, maybe to
to the standards of 70’s era bikes, but not even close to newer crmo/alum/carbon, etc. (feather-weight compared to a 70’s Schwinn)
What say you…..Safe or not? (Doc, your expertise would be greatly appreciated)

    Hey BRQ good to see your bizzly at it I have seen this done to bikes over the years,
    usually the bars & cranks,seat post. If used as a casual rider i don’t see ant real trouble
    if there are no extensive rust issues happy riding 2 THUMBS UPMY FRIEND
    just last year a Girl friend out of San Rafael did the same to a old schwinn
    she’s a bit of a bikeophile/artist after drilling out the frame she added led’s
    with varying colors quite the sight AT THE STREET FAIR
