Our fifth Red bike is as many days, I’d say we’ve almost got a sub-theme for this here Japan(ese) Week. Today’s installment, a 1978 Sekai Sprint sent in by Bronwyn.
This was my mom’s bike, which she got with my dad when they were in grad school together. It’s been sitting in the shed for about 10 years unused, so last summer she passed it on to me and I threw on some new tubes and tires, and rode it quite a lot. Recently I gave it the full restoration it deserves, and replaced the dying freewheel with a NOS Suntour Perfect (which was the same kind I pulled off). New chain, and of course the saddle, bar wrap, and Cat Eye computer are new, but everything else is as it was in 1978.
Thanks Bronwyn
