Connor B’s 70s Sears Ted Williams Free Spirit

Year: 1970- 1975 Make: Sears and Roebuck Model: Ted Williams Free Spirit/ Sport Racer?

This bike is the bike that my dad road. My grandfather was a sears employee, and bought this bike and another one just like it. The other bike is in rough condition but I will have it up soon. I found these jewels in my grandmas shed, with about and inch of dust on them, all parts are original all the way down to the tubes, except the chain. I know its missing bar tape I’m trying to chas down some NOS vinyl bar tape. The bike rides well and is a blast! The frame is exactly like a Ted Williams Sport Racer, but it doesn’t have the Sport Racer decal, This was a great first project bike, and has got me hooked on old ten speeds.     You’ve got it looking good, Conner!
    Nice to have a “parts bike” on hand, too!
    The brake levers look low; I’ve used the lever-tip-touching-a-ruler-held-against-the-bar advice, and it always puts them in the right place.

    yeah, i did, just these pictures are old, and before i really knew anything about road bikes.

      It takes me so long to post bikes sometime. Connor could go from knowing nothing about bikes, to owning his own shop before I get around to posting his bike.

        Actually, I think you’ve been doing pretty good at posting submittals. Besides, your readers probably tend to proceed at a more-sedate, all-steel, vintage-bike-speed, not at the currrent, breakneck-carbon-fiber, warp-factor-speed!
