Very nice work, David! How could anyone resist?
I continue to be amazed how a drop-bar mixte completely transforms from a forlorn, stem-shift OTS into something SO attractive and inviting with a simple tourist-handlebar/brake-lever swap (the basket and whitewalls add a compelling coup de gras to close the sale). Current flat-bar hybrids just don’t seem to have the same appeal. Add some fenders to complete the tourist-transformation, and I’d bet the original owner wouldn’t recognize it.

Very nice work indeed. I agree with Older 1 fenders would have completed the transformation nicely. Maybe even add a vintage Pletscher rack. I really
like those cork grips. Did you by any chance
Shellac them? And the wicker basket is a nice touch. Again, VERY Nice job (:

That seems to be a natural conversion for the mixte frame. Loaves of bread and a jug of wine. A bicycle like this one is bound to have a good life from here on out. I would like to hang out at the places this bike will go; I would like to meet the people that will be there.
