Perhaps not quite as Fezzikish as yesterday’s Gentle Giant, it is a big bike nonetheless.

Here’s my Schwinn Tempo. I’m not exactly certain of the vintage but I’m guessing late 80’s or early 90’s. Lugged steel frame, Shimano 105 drivetrain components, Biopace chainrings, downtube shifters and a mixture of hubs and rims shorn with 700 x 25 Conti Gatorskins. No rack braze-ons or room for fenders..definitely a fair-weather road bike. I couldn’t figure out why someone stuck a Campy decal on the downtube until I saw the Campy headset (with Cinelli stem). Guess I’d call it Schwinntalian?

    It’s a 62 cm frame…not super huge but big enough for me.

    Also, I finally checked out the headbadge S/N and it’s 1987 vintage, for sure. I also have a 1988 LeTour, 62 cm, champagne colored with Suntour ‘Blaze’ components and similar graphics. Both are great bikes!

    I just bought the very same bike -1987; same colors, etc.

    It replaced my stolen 1973 Fuji Finest.

    I also just bought the same bike- rims are anodized black otherwise the same. Looking forward to putting some miles on it when spring arrives…
