Here is Hugh’s latest project, a Raleigh Team Record. Keep us posted Hugh.

I just off-loaded this from my truck, an old English built Raleigh. The owner, Robert, had owned this bike since he was wee lad of 12. He figured that one day he would restore it, but finally decided to let it go.
After giving it a good looking over I`m not sure if I should be grateful or not. LOL. Actually I am delighted, I have been hoping an old English Raleigh would come along. The Raleighs really made a strong impression on me as a boy. the first time I saw the old Raleigh Badge I knew I was looking at something special.

    Terrific headbadge but wow is this an ugly duckling of a bike. It will look smart once the saddle is moved a bit and I would suggest a one color scheme with black tyres and polish the chrome wheels. It will be enjoyable to see it after tinkering with this new toy.

    Hugh, you might be interested in seeing this CL post for a “1974 Team Raleigh Record” before it’s gone (not mine). It looks like a closely related sibling of your find.

    I have the identical bike. I bought it with my hard earned blueberry scooping money back in 1974 when I was 14 years old. She was brand new. I lived on this bike in my teenage years. It still works but I would like to restore it to it’s original condition or as close as I can get. Could you help and direct me to where I can get parts for her. Thanks.
