Here is Jeff V’s 1983 Schwinn World Tourist.

Hi Cameron,

It’s been awhile since I’ve submitted an OTS.  I recently completed an overhaul of this 1983 Schwinn World Tourist, a Giant (Taiwan) framed bike with the FFS (Front Freewheeling System).   Reasonably lightweight frame was in great condition, but the rear rim and front gears were elliptical in many ways.    Several hours of labor got them in very acceptable condition.   Original Mesinger saddle is truly comfortable.  Even has an original Schwinn rack (sans reflector). This is also the smallest sized frame available that year (17 inch seat tube), ideal for a short stature rider.  I hope you’ll agree it was worth saving this OTS from the jaws of the trash truck; it now resides with a smiling new owner!
