Winnebago “American Adventure Super Touring 10 speed”.
This is a really strange bike. I can find almost no information on it and my best guess is that at some point in the 70’s Winnebago offered a special branded bicycle with the purchase of an RV.This bike was found in a trash pile on the street along with some mattresses and broken furniture. It had no cables, the tires were flat and the rim tape was hanging out between the tires and rims. After a thorough cleaning, new cables and rim tape she is in her current state. The original tubes still hold air and the tires roll just fine.
It has Falcon derailleurs, chang-star brake calipers and nothing else is branded as far as I can see. It is pretty heavy and the strange thing is that it’s a 54cm frame but it has 26×1 3/8 tires on it… which if I remember right was a Schwinn wheel size so it may have been a lower end bike produced by Schwinn for Winnebago.
Anyway, as you can see, it appears that it was hardly ever ridden. It looks like it’s brand new and the decals aren’t even scratched.
