Year = 1975
Make = Raleigh
Model = Grand PrixA little bit about it:
I got this RGP from the roadside, it was being tossed out. It was in fine shape; I think
old Raleigh’s are great. I have a Triumph 3-speed and and R-Twenty too, so you get the picture.
I downgraded it to a 5-speed machine; didn’t need all that other stuff, simplify.I use this as my work bike, keep it at campus and ride it around for lunch and fun ride events.
Recently the old steel rims started giving troubles with lots of flats. I love the bike so decided
to spend some money on it and try make it a bit better. So this is the results, the new stuff:Weinmann LP18 rims and new rubber
Saddle: Bontrager Evoke R
MKS Sylvan Touring Pedals
VO Porteur Handlebar / new grips
New VO brake levers and cables / casing / bell
Wald woody rack
And Love!It rides great now, it lost a little weight too.
I’m hanging on to the original rims. Great blog!John
