This month’s most eager entrant, John, sent me his gorgeous Omega 10-Speed which he has appropriately named OTiS. A couple of emails received from him indicate that he has his sights set on a win in May’s OTSOTM. With this kind of quality, he and OTiS are likely to tear up the competition. However, strange things happen—sometimes the ugly bike wins(February) or sometimes the voters grow indifferent(March) or sometimes the owners resort to shameless campaigning(April)—making potential upsets loom behind every corner. Good luck in the competition John—you shouldn’t need it, but you never know.
I have never heard of an Omega bicycle before, but I could see the potential it had. I rescued the neglected frame from a neighbors back yard. Completely tore apart the 4130 CROMO frameset. Cleaned it all up and added a very nice set of Normandy 10 speed wheels. Old bike is almost to pretty to ride. I do probably 10 complete restorations a year as a hobby. By the way… I am one of Bob’s co-workers. I thought this entry might shake things up a bit. I named this bike OTIS.
Thanks John
