Found with a mate (fine two fenderd friends) @ a local thrift: 73 chicago schwinn continental (chainless) and yet undated half breed; Herculese 5 spd…slipping into the 10 spd gallery……

    Julie, love the bikes. I am currenly riding 21 miles per day on a ’72 Schwinn Varsity, so those old Schwinns were made to RIDE. The Hercules is also cool.

      Thanks Eic/that tall boy went to a tall boy for $60. The Herc went to a very happy lady. Have a 64 SSS now; of the grape variety-never made those smaller than 22″ (sniff) Great fun to get them rolling again….

    Julie, I’m beginning to think that a slick, yellow-paint salesman made the ultimate deal with Schwinn back around 1968 and had a contract with them for ten years. Your bike is beautiful. It also has the original yellow tape. I tried to salvage the tape on my SSS, but it was brittle. My bike now sports padded yellow tape. Nice fenders.
