Brugelbar…Brugelbam…you’re right, Julie, I can’t even write it three times fast!
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a non-mixte women’s/ladies lugged-frame OTS with all those refined features. Looks great! It’s either German or from northern Italy?
Hope you can keep your outlook positive.

Thanks O-1 Dropouts are gipimme; so it may be italian/the crank was a german ‘thule’. Marketed under ‘Brugelmann Bicycles’ in Germany. Stories have it that they would give them italian sounding names/ah the world of marketing. It IS quite unique, at least on this side of the pond. Thanks for the kind words.

Deutsch, ja. Makes sense: a serious bike built for a serious rider! Pas Auf!
Over here, any non-mixte women’s model was (and continues to be) generally a cheap, department-store ‘quality’ bike (unless it’s a bombproof electro-forged Schwinn).
I’ve heard the Britons correctly use the term BSO (Bicycle-Shaped Object), and definitelty NOT to be applied to a Brugelmann!
