Hello: I found this Kent Concordia on Craigslist in Chula Vista, CA in a very sad state. Curiously, it was still in pretty good shape considering that it had been exposed to the elements of the harsh San Diego, CA weather. The Chrome parts were all covered by rust. It had no tires as they probably rotted away. The handlebars had a blue foam wrapping that was crumbling at touch and definitely not very attractive. I have searched endlessly online for any info on the Kent Concordia, and all I can found is one picture at the Oldtenspeedgallery.com submitted by one of the members. I dutifully spent many hours cleaning the rust and grime while thinking what to do with it. After I brought this sad-looking puppy home, my stepdaughter claimed it for herself. Needless to say that I was very happy to oblige. New gumwall tires were mounted up, new brake pads, and, the pink handlebar wrapping tape that my daughter chose for it. The Concordia received a tune up and a new bike stand and it was ready to go. The blue saddle is the original one which is still in good shape and will be staying for a while. Overall, it rocks! We have been rewarded with a very nice retro-looking little bike. It might not have the recognition of some of the more heralded rides seen here in the OTSG, but it certainly holds her ground in terms of charm, good looks and yes, it almost looks grateful. The Kent now spends her off time inside and won’t be exposed to water any time soon! It is a keeper and my daughter will be taking it with her when she goes back to college after this Spring break. Thanks for watching. Haroldo A. San Diego, CA
