Kris K’s Armstrong Funny-Bike

This might be the coolest bike I own/have ever seen.  I did an internet search for Armstrong bicycle…well you can just about imagine how many references to Lance there were, and none for this bike.  I would really appreciate some info if any of you other Old 10 lovers have it.

Huret front and rear derailleurs and down tube shifters, John Bull brake pads but cannot tell the brake type, and those bars!  The rims are Made In England Dunlop and are 26″ x 1 3/8.  I feel a little large riding it, and have to reach down to my ankles to shift, but with that tight rear cog and front chain, there isn’t much point in shifting anyway.  This bike makes makes me smile every time I see it, I hope it is the same for you.     Ram`s horn Handlebars, Sweet! In about 1969 I swapped a set of ape-hangers for a set of those. My friend Mike and myself were “chopping” my Blue Schwinn Sting-Ray. I vaguely remember seeing an Armstrong bike. I think they made a lot of 3 speeds. Commonly referred to in those days as ‘English Racers”

    See funny bike, then smile. Yup, worked on me, Kris!
    If you want something different, you’ve sure got it! Yikes! Beats seeing flat bars on an OTS! I’d like to see some comments about “correct brake lever position” in the “drops”, though!
    The chrome bands on the seat tube reminds me of my brother’s old Hercules 3-speed.
