I’ll take this opportunity to let another triple chainring slip though the cracks. This is Lauren A.‘s 86ish Univega Gran Premio.  Lauren, I have an ’85 SR with an almost identical component group—less the triple—so I’d say your guess of ’86 is pretty good.

Got this beauty off of CL here in LA. Originally came with 27×1′s which are nearly impossible to replace, so I put a set of Araya gold anodized 700′s, I replaced the stem for with a shorter Nitto, replaced the tires, seat and grips, and the original owner put on an SR Apex 3 ring crank. To round it out, it has Cyclone MK-II’s, and Dia Compe Grand Compe brakes. Love, love, love this bike!
