I’ve been giving you Schwinn two-a-days all week, and today I’m outdoing even that. Mahan E.’s 1976 Traveler is serving as the lead-out for a Friday Trifecta of Travelers. Stay tuned.

I know that Schwinn’s are about a dime a dozen on the site, but my bike is just such a good one… It’s a 1976 Schwinn Traveler. I bought it from a guy for $100 about a year ago and use it to commute to work. It had been sitting in the guy’s grandfather’s garage for over 20 years when his grandson inherited it and then sold it to me. Very little rust. A new seat was added (sometime recently apparently) and I added the pannier rack and new handlebar tape. The speedometer/odometer is very cool looking but unfortunately not hooked up. I would love to find the parts to get it working again.
Love the website! Many thanks.
