A little bit about it:
I found this rare purple Competition at a garge sale covered in 30 years of attic dust. It was all there and in amazing shape under all the grime. All Reynolds 531 frame and fork, very nice original Brooks Professional saddle, Weinmann center pulls, white Carlton hoods, Fiamme rims, Normandy hubs, tubulars, great paint and most decals. This color never showed up in any of the catalogs as far as I know. Rides like a dream after a new set of tires, tape, chain, and cables. I’ve got $90 total into the bike and restoration.

    A high quality classic in a beautiful color. Do you think that’s the original color?

      Absolutely original. This color is well documented, but never shown in a catalog as far as I can tell.

    I stuck with the tubulars. It had been many years since I had glued on sew-ups. I loved the ride. Sold this bike to a Raleigh collector who had been looking for this color scheme.
