Michael C.’s 1987 Panasonic DX6000

With this weekend being unofficially the unofficial end of summer, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did. Thank you for a great summersworth of OTS.

Time again to close out another fine week of OTS, and doing the honors is Michael C.’s 1987 Panasonic DX6000.  I’m happy to report: with Michael’s submittal we have now doubled the OTSG’s Panasonic “DX Index” to a very respectable DX 4500.  Way-to-go!

Driveside goodies!

This is my DX-6000 that I got as a 23rd birthday present to myself. It was basically mint condition when I got it, even had the original tires that held air. With some minor derailler adjustment it shifts marvelously. It’s a 10ish-speed (okay, okay, it’s 14) with full SunTour Sprint groupset. It’s a wonderful bike and I’ve already put 200 miles on it since the beginning of May!

I’d include a newer and better picture but the day these were taken I was run off the road and now I have a mismatched blackwall tire up front.

Thanks again Michael
