• Mike H.’s 1980 Schwinn Traveler

As promised, we’ve started this week with more OTSG First-timers. It’s also time for a Sub-theme, Gentle Giants: An Interlude of Over 60s. I think this 1980 Schwinn Traveler sent in by Mike H. fits tightly into this category.

1980 Schwinn Traveler - 37 inches of standover bliss.I bet you could ride this bike through that pond and never go under.1980 Schwinn Traveler - 61 cm toptube and a 10 cm stem.75th day of 1980

In 1980 my Dad bought this classic Japanese built Xtra Lite Traveler in Phoenix and passed it on to me recently. This bike is totally original except the tires. My plan is to get another 29 years out of this beauty and pass it on to another family member. Standover height is 37 inches. Top tube is 24 in. long.

    Thanks Mike
