MoeDee has sent me this Mercier Special Tour De France 10-speed. He is also hoping to sell it — I hope just to make room in the budget for another 10-speed. In my experience with the 10-speed market, I have determined that a bike is worth what ever someone is willing to pay. Set your asking price as high as you can without feeling foolish and then add 25%. If it doesn’t sell in two weeks, reduce the price by 5%. If it still doesn’t sell, reduce and repost. There is no point in asking a reasonable price from the start, when you just might get lucky and unload it for 50-100% more than you intend.
This bike is 90% original and I still ride, even the cables are original , handle bar tape etc. It was stored in a nice warm garage for a long time. I’m looking to sell it, what is it worth?
