As for his bike: This is his 1986 Caloi 10.  Caloi is a Brazilian bicycle manufacturer founded in 1898 by Italian immigrant, Luigi Caloi.   From the looks of it, Caloi no longer offers road bikes in their line, but according to tears for gears, they had had a deal supplying rebadged Eddy Merckx frames for Lotto back in the early 90s.  Any additional information is always welcome.
