1972 Schwinn Super Sport Kool Lemon

A co-worker asked me if I would like to have her husbands old bike since he could no longer ride it. She didn’t know much about it other than it was an old bike that has been hanging in the garage for years. She brought it to work and what I saw was an old bike that had 40 years worth of grime and oxidation on it. I was thrilled with the idea of refurbishing this bike, so I took it home and completely disassembled it, cleaned it and put it back together. It is a gem of a bike and a head turner. The Kool Lemon color really is bright and cheerful in the summer sun.

    THAT REALLY IS A NICE SHADE OF YELLOW!!! Okay, I put my sunglasses on, I dont think you will need to worry about cars not seeing you. Gotta love the price too. =)

    THE NEIGHBOR JUST PAID ME $25 TO TAKE THIS 74 SUBURBAN OFF HIS HANDS , FROM HIS YARD SALE SO HE WOULD NOT HAVE TO TAKE IT TO THE DUMP I CAN ONLY HOPE IT COMES OUT 1/2 AS NICE AS YOURS. THIS BIKE OF YOURS SHOULD BE OTSOTM IT’S GOT MY VOTE

      Nice Lil’ Rare Bird you got there, Mr. Doc.
      I’d hang on to that one for a while, 1974 Suburban was the only Schwinn with a bar-mounted shifter from the Chicago Schwinn era, as opposed to a stik(s) on the stem. Perhaps we can restore the two, yours and mine and submit ’em to Cam for a take-two entry?

    PatWoz, you have presented one beautiful Schwinn Super Sport. I really enjoy the extras that you added to give it a classic seventies look. I restored a 1974 model in 2009, same color. Mine looks nice, but yours has a much better paint job. Ride with pride!
