Ron S’s 1983 Schwinn Varsity Deluxe

I failed miserably to deliver 4 days of Schwinns last week, so I’m continuing our Independence theme this week. And speaking of independence, Ron S exercised more than his fair share with this bar setup on his ’83 Varsity Deluxe.

1983 Schwinn Deluxe Varsity red. Refurbished with 98% Schwinn parts. I pulled a yellow Varsity from the trash and combined with this frame from a friend and parts from my stash, resulted in this fast rider. I built and sold the yellow one to pay for the red one. Paint and decals are 1983. Really heavy but fun to blast around on. serial# DU520854

      Ron could get some white tires and blue handlebar wrap to be ready for the next 4th parade!
      Once upon a LONG time ago, after a rattle-can paint job, I put ape hangers (and a banana seat) on a full-size single-speed Schwinn, but it didn’t turn out nearly as flashy!
