Russ Z.’s Flat Bar Huffy Scout

With Russ’ entry, the OTSG now proudly possesses the largest collection of Albatross-like Super Deluxe Gel Comfort Saddles (SDGCS) in the WORLD!  Thank you for this dubious honor.

That aside, Russ’ Huffy Scout also features some other notable details:  a vintage MTB flat bar setup,  top tube mounted shifters and red spoke mounted reflectors.  It’s been my limited experience that usually red and amber SMRs are most common on our international entries, but rarely seen stateside.

Hey there,
Love the site. I’m heavy into bikes from the ’60′s and ’70′s.
I’ve attached some pics of my late ’70′s Huffy Scout. I have left everything as built except I have recently ditched the original bars and shifters for straight bars and moved the friction shifters to the top tube. I’m getting older and riding with road bars is killing me!

Thanks Russ

I hear you brother, Those Euro style 3 speeds with the “Bristol England” double -
sprung saddles are starting to look real good to this old man.
