Russ Z, king of the SDGCS, sent in this OTSG First, a large lavender Lotus Legend.
Hello Cameron,
This early 80’s Lotus Legend was saved from my neighbor’s garbage pile. So neglected the original drop bars broke in two trying to remove them. All the cables had become seized along with the freewheel. Saddle (I hope you notice I didn’t use a SDGCS on this one!!) was gone along with the micro adjust clamp, chain, tires and tubes were junk. The bike does have a very nice light chromoly lugged frame, Suntour Symmetric downtube shifter (which “trims” the front deralleur when shifting), Sugino cranks and chainrings, Shimano RX100 derailleurs and 105 brakes, alloy Araya rims. After clean up, lube and replacement of all the bad/ missing things we have another one saved from the dead. I tried my best to keep this one as God intended. I will be adding a set of clips and toe straps before shipping this to my nephew who attends The Citadel in South Carolina as a birthday present!
I apologize for the lack of pictures….my camera died after these shots…
Keep up the great site!
Russ
Thanks Russ
