Today’s OTS is sent to us by Sean S.  This is his heirloom 1984 Raleigh Marathon, complete with the hot new bar-wrap/tire-sidewall coordination trend.

My OTS is a 1984 raleigh marathon that sat in the garage and gathered dust after my grandfather passed away in 2002 but 8 years later, my grandmother was cleaning out the garage and was going to get rid of it, i asked her if I could have it and she let me take the bike home.

    I have red accents on my Marathon too. It helps bring out the red heron headbadge. Very cool.

    There is just something about a Raleigh. I don`t know if it`s the Old English Script. Maybe it`s the worlds coolest Head-Badge.The Marathon has a very classic look.

    It’s seems all the 80’s Raleigh Marathon models are that beautiful blue/green.
    I’m refurbishing a Mixte frame in that color for resale. The sealed bottom bracket and cranks are intact and I’m rebuilding the headset. Do folks sell bikes on this site? I’m a retired bike mechanic and have also restored a ‘first edition’, 1974 Schwann LeTour. All original in Koop Lemon! Maybe I should join this group? Richard Bailey. Prescott AZ
