• Sean Y’s Concord Pacer S/S

Wow, what an exciting turn of events yesterday! History is in the making!  I had no idea my “Green” bike would come in and stick it to the “Red” and “Blue” bike.  According to Quantcast.com, OTSG is popular among a fairly wealthy, somewhat male, 35-49, more educated audience.  Its report says nothing about silly dirty hippie types!  I kid, I kid!:)  I am grateful you all took time let your voices be heard in our little fake election. Now back to what you come here for:  This is Sean Y’s Concord Pacer S/S a prototypical OTS in every respect.  All reflectors are intact, the seat is at optimal height—some foam padding to replace that bar wrap, and I’ll put this baby up there with the Jack Tripper Special as the greatest OTS Ever!

Bought for one dollar from the original owners wife at a yard sale. It was his “high school” bike.

I’ve c.l.a’d and r.r.r’d almost everything. It now has aluminum rims, new cables & housings all around, reclaimed BB & Cranks SunTour Perfect freewheel with VGT derailer and will have newer brake levers and bar tape when I’m done. The new handlebars look to be randonneur style from Wald of all places.

    Thanks Sean

Since my Huffy 626 sadly died this week, I have been “borrowing” this bike from the co-op that I volunteer at. As far as I know it has all of the original parts, and is in pretty good shape. Would this bike make a solid commuter/ bad weather bike? It would be second to the pake fixed gear that I am building..

I had that exact same Concord Pacer SS back when I was in high school. I graduated in 1983. I lived in Ohio back then and I rode that bike all over the city and out on the hilly country roads of SE Ohio. I weighed in at 120 lbs (Cross country runner) and had no problems getting anywhere with it’s limited gearing compared to today’s bikes. Wow! That brought back a lot of memories for me. I just wish I had known more about Bike racing back then. The bike I replaced the Concord with was a 1989 Giant Allegre.
