Welcome Shawn T. and his Iverson Grand Sport. This beauty sports a curious mix that you don’t see too often, downtube shifters and an Ashtabula crank.
Shawn, I see you replaced the derailers, did you replace the shifters? Also, are both those wheels the same size? The front appears larger and the top tube seems to have a slight incline or it that just an illusion caused by the background?

I have a iverson grand sport here of an unknown year. I found the bike in a trash bin in my neighborhood and being I had some parts laying about the house I decided to put it back on the road. After a major cleaning and regreasing I replaced the derailleurs,rims and stem. The tires were scrapped from the salvage yard as I did not wanna have money in a bike that is probably not worth it. Not the best resurrection but the bike is back on the road again and was saved from the crusher. Thanks

    Nice Save Shawn, now that is back on the road perhaps some other bike-head will think -hey I could spiff that up new tires and bar tape maybe a crank conversion……. Good job

    Whoa! At our neighborhood Yard Sale this weekend, an ol’ timer around the corner from me had an Iverson just like this one. He wanted $35 for it which was “almost” worth it. “Almost” meaning I’m slightly scared to show up at home with another bike project. Free is even better, nice score.

    When I was 10 years old, in 1969, I received an identical Iverson 10 for Christmas. I loved that bike as only a 10 year old could and rode many miles, the world was my oyster with that Iverson. The years took a big toll on my bike, but I still have the rusted hulk waiting for a renewal ‘ someday’. That’s a beautiful bike! If you know of anyone with an old Iverson Grand Sport, in similarly good condition, yeah, I’d grab it! How I’d love to ride it again!
