Memorial Day Weekend is looping large, as is the end of Japan(ese) Week(s).  Leading us out for the sprint finish of another fine theme week is Tom R. and his $3, de-decaled, baby blue, badass Panasonic.

Got this for $3.00 at local rummage sale. Also found Huffy Kensington ( ever heard of that model) for $5.00. Am in the process of rehabbing both. Pictures of Huffy to follow.
Have no idea what age this bike is. Has a Shimano 600 derailleur and serial number – 5B10109- on left rear dropout.

    Judging by the serial number it’s likely from ’85. Also looks like it’s got the front freewheel system.

    Check out http://www.panasonicbikemuseum.info for some catalogs. I cant place the model off the top of my head but it looks kinda like a sport or sport deluxe. that headbadge looks much older than 85 though.

    I received this exact model [1976 Sport Deluxe] for my 12th birthday in 1976. The badge in the front was red/white/blue
