After the past couple days of Frenchness, I could sure use some good ol’ American steel…er aluminum as the case may be. Chris P. submitted the two beauties below. I’m not sure why he had to go and “upgrade” them, they looked pretty swell already. I took the liberty of posting the “Before” pictures and made the “After” shots the thumbs. You can take look at his after shots, if you’re into that sort of thing. Chris also submitted a third bike, a 1997 Kline with STI Brifters, but I just can’t go there.
1986 Cannondale ST400
Another gold find: ’86 Cdale paid 40$ from a garage. A friend got a free paint job for me. Upgrades include a set of Mavic wheels, bull-bars, Shimano 600 head-set, and a Specialized saddle. All aluminum frame which is rigid as hell; feel everything on the road.
1988 Trek 360
Scored this for $25.00 off Craigslist. Needed air in the tires. I added an Araya wheelset, some crappy yellow Continental tires, yellow bar tape, and the bull bars. Awesome steel frame; rigid, responsive and contours to the road.
Thanks Chris
