We have a boat load of 1974 Varsities in here, but we don’t have any in the 24 inch variety—until now!  Thanks to Wanye R. in Mississippi for this one.

This is my Schwinn Varsity from 1974. I got this bike at a thrift. I don’t ride it much, due to the size of it. It has a smaller frame than some, and the wheels are 24″. It’s more of a novelty for me, and I really like the reddish orange color. Not sure if I want to wrap the handle bars. I kinda like the look. Thought you might enjoy.

    I had a bike just like this one! My mother used to enter contests, lots of contests. She won an orange, 24-inch Schwinn Varsity probably about 1976.

    On one of my first rides I was going full blast down a new sidewalk and didn’t know there was a 6-inch cut in it to let water through. I hit the gap and BOOM! the tire blew, and I flipped!

    I can’t remember what happened to that bike.

      No way! Those babies are solid steel and weigh about 5lbs. by themselves! What’s to be scared of?
