Ben’s Murray “The Dude” 10-Speed

He doesn’t know it yet, but Ben in Ohio really made my Wednesday! I was lumbering along yesterday in the middle of my typically loathsome workday when he lit up my inbox with this themed Murray 10-speed. Titled “The Dude”, donning a powder blue paint job and a fitting 70s type face–this Murray is the finest OTS I’ve seen since–well, since the last OTS I saw! To top it all off, The Dude is outfitted with a glorious faux-denim vinyl saddle. This Murray seems to light up the Gallery.

Murray The Dude 10-Speed

The bike’s model name is ‘The Dude’ and the seat is vinyl made to look like denim. Who could not love this bike. Found it in the trash one day this winter. Took it home, cleaned it up and replaced the tires, tubes and brake pads. Now being used as a short distance college campus bike.

Thanks Ben

Well this past weekend the Dude was stolen from a bike rack on campus. I fear it has already been sold to a scrap dealer. May its department store soul rest in peace.

Man, that sucks. Bastards! I’m sure it was the faux-denim saddle that they coveted.

The funny thing is it was left unlocked for almost 2 months, and the very weekend that the new owner was going to take it and fix the flat tire — poof.
